ABSTRACT
The article presents statistics related to the U.S. apparel industry. According to economic and financial forecasting firm Global Insights Inc., there was a decline in revenue from $52.5 billion in the first quarter of 2002 to $51.9 billion in the third quarter of 2003. It is expected that it will further decline to $51.6 billion by the end of 2004. The gross operating profit increased from $17.1 billion in the first quarter of 2003 to $18 billion in the third quarter of 2003. According to annual indicators also revenue declined from $64.3 billion in 1996 to $53.6 billion in 2002.
