ABSTRACT
The article critiques the 2008 film "Valkyrie," concerning Operation Valkyrie, a 1944 attempt to assassinate German leader Adolf Hitler led by army officer Colonel Claus Schenck Count von Stauffenberg. It comments on the depiction of the hero by Tom Cruise, noting his religious adherence to Scientology. The author considers the story's connections to Switzerland, including the Swiss citizenship of Stauffenberg’s daughter Konstanze von Schulthess. The issue of historical accuracy is addressed.
