He describes his experience of living in Green River Road, Halifax, Vermont one year in college, in an apartment at a trout farm, with his girlfriend. He talks about getting to town to get away with his girlfriend, who seemed gradually to inhabit a reality unobservable to anyone else, to listen to music in solitude.
