ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on how African American literature has changed following the terrorist attacks against the U.S. on September 11, 2001, as of 2013. The author discusses his impressions of what he identifies as the normalization of African American conservatism and examines black conservatism and U.S. national security, African American narratives in the 21st century, and the intersection of the narrative of post September 11 African American intimacy with state terror.
