ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on the First Amendment law of the U.S. related to the regulation of politics and the free speech clause. The doctrinal and theoretical difficulties facing the individuals and business corporations and the implications in leading election law cases are discussed with reference to the trial of Citizens United v. FEC and Austin v. Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The issues related to unlimited independent expenditures during elections are also discussed.
