ABSTRACT
This essay is an examination and criticism of culture as it was expressed in the thoughts and opinions of the late Christopher Lasch, an American historian, moralist, social critic, and former professor at the University of Rochester, New York. The author synopsizes the life and work of Lasch, focusing specifically upon his works of social/cultural criticism and those dealing with cultural identity--works and opinions that, in Poland, remain little known, according to the author. Among the reflections noted, are Lasch's thought and opinions of the phenomenon of the "Culture of Narcissism" and his opinions in "The True and Only Heaven."
