ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on participating in Bridger Ridge run which is considered the most rugged, technical 20 mile trail race from Fairy Lake trailhead northeast of Bozeman, Montana up to Bridger mountain. It is noted that the end-goal of a typical road marathoner is the Boston Marathon which is limited to those who meet age-based qualifying times at another marathon. The author relates the difficulties like his ankle injury and challenges in joining a marathon run on a technical terrain.
