An essay on the history and historiography of communism in South Asia is presented. It examines several countries' communist parties, commenting on the Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP), the Communist Party of India (CPI), and the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB). The author explores communism's relationship to nationalism, anti-imperialism, and religion and reflects on political repression.
