ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on the treatment of venous thromboembolism with low-molecular-weight heparin therapy, which won the 2009-2010 Top Achievements in Health Research. It offers the history of the multicentre randomized clinical trial program and its impact in the medical field such as the endorsement by American Society of Clinical Oncology and recommendation as long-term treatment option. Result shows the same effectiveness but less harmful than vitamin K antagonist.
