ABSTRACT
An essay is presented on myths associated with the life of author Wallace Stegner and his book "Joe Hill." It offers the history regarding the conviction of itinerant laborer Joe Hill in the character of the book, where Stegner portrays it in a complex manner. It cites that Stegner used fiction to examine the legend of Joe Hill and provide information that will less complicate the real story.
