ABSTRACT
An essay is presented which criticizes judge Robert Bork's advocacy of U.S. government censorship of culture. It explains why such censorship is not prudent and in fact unnecessary and claims that private institutions can do a much better job of promoting desirable cultural values than government can. It examines the book "Slouching Towards Gomorrah," by Bork and stresses that accepting his advocacy would reject a large part of the U.S. tradition of individual freedom and Western tradition of liberalism.
