The article presents an essay on the professional attributes that contribute most to creating an effective Defense financial manager. Flexibility is the mantra that can be applied to Defense financial management by being able to remain flexible to change and to make the best decisions with the best information available. Financial managers must be focused on their responsibilities and on who owns the money entrusted to them.
