ABSTRACT
This article offers the author's thoughts on how to ease the conversation when talking about retirement plans. The author recommends that financial planners who have to deal with clients who may not understand the importance of planning for retirement should inject a little humor into the conversation, because people respond better when they are in a better mood. He offers one liners that range from not equating the financial planner to Suze Orman, to ripping on golf, as well as dropping a few statistics about the burdens that retirees face.
