ABSTRACT
An essay on incorporating the multimodal Gothic texts in the U.S. television series "Supernatural" in a literature class is presented. It offers a review of Gothic literature in line with course goals and examines the narrative technique in one episode of the series as to its historical, cultural and religious aspects. The author relates the way students can appreciate the way teachers use new media in an audience-based practice through genre-based novels or contemporary television features.
