This article reviews the permanent exhibition of the Sant Ocean Hall at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C., opening on September 27, 2008, as well as the exhibition "Dig It! The Secrets of Soil," also at the National Museum of Natural History through January 3, 2010.
