ABSTRACT
In this article, the author focuses on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) gene study, and mentions that high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT)-defined emphysema COPD is could not be treated with inhalers. The author mentions phenotypes including chronic airflow obstruction (CAO), HRCT defined emphysema, and hyperinflation or gas trapping on HRCT. The author also mentions low postbronchodilator forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) for use of inhalers.
