ABSTRACT
The author reflects on Subacute onset encephalopathy which is a rare clinical syndrome with many aetiologies. He also highlights various causes that can be categorized into the following non-mutually-exclusive aetio-pathogenetic groupings: neurodegenerative, neuroinfectious, neuroinflammatory and metabolic.
