The article presents the author's views on opportunities for Asian business enterprises in a competitive environment. The author believes that in markets like Southeast Asia, especially the Philippines and Indonesia, reinsurance has the potential to grow along the primary insurance industry's growth rate. In mature markets like Japan, the focus often lies on optimising clients' business along their value chain and fine-tuning the business to create growth, says the author.
