ABSTRACT
The author discusses three conferences sponsored by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), which are defining events of their profession. He states these conferences gave their profession an accord on which issues need to be addressed as they grow and develop. Also mentioned is the Pharmacy Practice Model Summit which has a more profound impact as it aims to use the entire pharmacy department by working with nurses and physicians for optimizing patient care.
