The authors discuss three signals from the November 2010 Pharmacy Practice Model Summit held in Dallas, Texas, and urge health system pharmacists to respond to them. They explain that pharmacists are required to make a bold commitment to providing accountable safety and patient outcomes, and reach out internally within their practice, as well as externally to achieve practice model reform at all levels. Also discussed is the role that state societies of pharmacists can play in fostering change.
