Dairy Products and Metabolic Risk Factors: How Much Do We Know?

The author comments on a study by F. Fumeron and colleagues which examined the relationship between dairy products intake and diabetes. The study revealed an inverse relationship between dairy products intake and diabetes and other cardiometabolic risk factors in the Data From the French Epidemiological Study on the Insulin Resistance Syndrome (DESIR) study. The said study suggests that intake of full fat and low-fat dairy products may lessen the diabetes risk but this raises concerns over the role of fatty acids in dairy products.
