The author looks at the state of leadership in the U.S. as of 2010. He cites that he found out from the Forum Leadership Challenges Index that leaders are increasingly seeking ways to enhance performance by developing more leaders. He notes that leadership bench strength is the greatest concern among leaders based on the index. He tackles the importance of managing succession of leaders. He adds that confidence in U.S. leaders remains low, according to the National Leadership Index.
