ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the Australian Marine Environment Protection Association (AUSMEPA) which celebrated its tenth anniversary in mid-July 2010. It is said to be one of the many offsprings of the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) established by a group of Greek ship owners 25 years ago. According to the author, AUSMEPA has gained widespread support from the maritime industry including both local and foreign ship owners.
