ABSTRACT
The author reflects on how the voice of a patient's mother gives an instrumental role in patient recovery. He states that hearing the mother's voice may be as important as tactile contact with the mother for the neuroendocrine regulation of human mother-child bonding. He notes that the intonations of a mother's voice may resonate meaningful, comforting and awakening therapeutic effects throughout the sense of being and well-being.
