ABSTRACT
In this editorial the author discusses aspects of her job as editor of the journal. She notes that she makes contacts around the world, both inside and outside of the indexing community, and that she needs to keep track of developments and trends within the world of indexing. A number of other issues are addressed including changes and inventions in indexing technology, ideas on the outer fringes of indexing that may become part of the mainstream, and professional development in indexing. The article also notes the resignation of Glenda Browne as an editor.
