The author provides information about the Austrian Society for Quality Assurance and Standardization of Medical-Diagnostics, which was founded on January 12, 1980 in Salzburg, Austria. He cites Professor Erich Kaiser who was elected as the first president of the society. He states that the society have more than 20,000 participants in the various fields of laboratory diagnostics. He adds that it will celebrate its 30th anniversary on April 29-30, 2010.
