The author reflects on the kind of help that Haiti needs following the unpredicted earthquake that caused massive destruction to the first Black Republic. He muses on the Haiti's degraded natural resources exhausted by overfarming of sugar cane. The author thinks that any relief effort for Haiti will never be enough because what the country needs is total change, along with the rest of the world.
