ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the appointment of Lisa P. Jackson as the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator under the government of President Barack Obama in the U.S. He considers Jackson to be a representation of a new era of environmental control. He expects that, under the supervision of Jackson, the country will have a change of regulations already finalized by EPA. He adds that there will also be a strong enforcement of existing environmental regulations in the future.
