ABSTRACT
The author discusses the impact of web-based applications on the software company Microsoft Corp. He states that Microsoft Corp. was affected by the use of online material in which one can already do word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases and manage customer relations using your browser and free, or nearly free, software on the Web. The author mentions that one of Microsoft's most significant acquisitions was Ray Ozzie and that the company has been able to publish 30,000 internal documents, opening up the protocols.
