ABSTRACT
The author ponders on the issue of hostile takeovers in the high tech industry. According to the author, the myth surrounding hostile takeovers in this industry will be tested when Microsoft pursues its bid for Yahoo. He points out that the trick to making a hostile approach work is keeping the key people and the shareholders satisfied. He explains the important role of culture in the Microsoft-Yahoo deal.
