ABSTRACT
The author offers opinions on the use of Webcasting by newspaper Web sites. The experiences of "The Star-Ledger" newspaper of Newark, New Jersey in implementing a regular Web cast from inside its newsroom is described. The author states that the Webcasts done by that newspaper are more effective in attracting viewers to its Web site because the broadcasts are live and unedited, giving the Internet user a spontaneous experience while at the same time allowing that user an interactive experience with the newspaper's production of journalism.
