Troy, Ceridwen
December 2008
Empty Closet;Dec2008/Jan2009, Issue 419, p1C
The author emphasizes her concern on the move by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities to put so much of their time and energy on the fight for marriage equality following the passage of the Proposition 8, a constitutional prohibition on same-sex marriages in California. She asserts that families come in various shapes and sizes, whether one is gay or heterosexual. She discourages LGBT from dwelling in the drive for marriage equality just to reflect the narrow definition of a family that the society imposes.
