ABSTRACT
The author looks at the continuing importance of the Catholic Church in Philippine politics at the May 11, 1987 legislative election. The author notes that His Eminence Cardinal Jaime Sin of Manila, Philippines has made his choices known for the legislative elections and tells Catholics reminders about which candidates not to vote. According to the author, the Philippine church must avoid being stereotyped while remaining vital in the political debate.
