ABSTRACT
The author discusses the need for hospital workers to educate patients in basic medical knowledge. Many adults who are well educated and intelligent do not understand important medical terminology. This can lead to frustrating misunderstandings or dangerous mistakes. When patients do not understand the information given to them by medical professionals, it makes them less satisfied with their care.
