ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the increasing number of immigrants moving in New York City in 1952. He says that the increasing number of immigrants entails the old problem of assimilating another people into 100 percent Americanism. He adds the urgent need of a thousand of Spanish-speaking teachers has likewise surfaced, since most of these immigrants are Puerto Ricans. Aside from teachers, a need for more Spanish priests is likewise cited since most of these Puerto Ricans are allegedly Catholics.
