ABSTRACT
The author of the article suggests that the bailouts being given to the U.S. automobile industry and the banking industry may harm the U.S. economy. Using the example of the automobile industry, the author shows how bailouts may hurry the demise of the U.S. automobile business which is not competing against Asian automakers. The author points out how bailouts could bring on trade wars such as the one between the Boeing Co. and Airbus SAS, and suggests that the U.S. support workers instead.
