ABSTRACT
The author analyzes the impact of the bailout plan for the U.S. banking system on the housing industry. He quotes David Seiders of the National Association of Home Builders saying that the U.S. Department of Treasury is not sure of how to will the bailout help stabilize the banking system. He notes that even if the economy improves, it would take time for house builders to ramp up their business, re-hire laborers who have left the slowing industry, and boost pre-sales.
