ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the move by fire fighter Ronny Coleman to fight for codes to require residential sprinkler systems in order to prevent fire. The author said that Coleman's move was based on his experience when he responded to a chemical fire at a boat manufacturer. Coleman was amazed to find how the sprinklers set off which extinguished the fire before the first fire apparatus arrived in the scene.
