ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the proliferation of bad movie remakes of good movies. He asserts that Isaac Hayes' haunting theme was used in a disappointing 2000 movie remake. He argues that John Singleton's film "Shaft," doover bombed despite the presence of Samuel L. Jackson in the title role, along with Jeffrey Wright. He also cites over disappointing movie remakes including the "Bad News Bears," "Four Feathers" and "Italian Job."
