Three-dimensional echocardiography: coming of age

The authors reflect on a study which focuses on the impact that information on left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction obtained from three dimensional echocardiography. They assert that echocardiography became a crucial tool in cardiology practice, due to use in diagnosing a multitude of disease processes. They suggest that the results of the study highlight clinical benefits of the technology to both individual patients and healthcare system.
