ABSTRACT
The author comments on a possible change in the way people or tourists perceive Las Vegas, Nevada from its old image as a city of fakes to a place of new service economy and original architectural designs. The author says that from 1905 to the 1990s, Las Vegas has had imitation Parisian streets, Venetian piazzas and Egyptian tombs. He says that Las Vegas has a more serious stance with its biggest casino being owned by a former Harvard professor and Hall Rothman naming it the first city of the 21st century.
