The author assesses the sustainable food movement in the U.S., emphasizing that locale is equally important when addressing responsible ecosystems within responsible global supply chain initiatives, third party certification and carbon emissions calculations. He contends that consumers need to respect the food supply supported by organizations promoting ecological sustainability and economic self-sufficiency. He believes the term Global Village may also refers to the sustainable foods supply chain.
