The author discusses the planned Union Park mixed-use urban community located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. She notes that the site is designed with a green orientation and will be built to Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) standards to ensure its sustainability. She cites some of the highlights of Park such as the Lou Ruvo Brain Institute, the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and the World Jewelry Center. Other developments she mentioned include a hotel with casino, retail space, and 3,200 townhouses, condominiums and lofts.
