Metalsmith;Winter1993, Vol. 13 Issue 1, p8
The author reflects on the value of jewelry design to maker, commissioner and wearer. He stresses that designing a piece of jewelry involves texture, rhythm, form, color, harmony, contrast and others. He emphasizes that the preciousness of a piece has come along after the work was made. He points out that designs, like poetry, are best when they allow completion from the reader or wearer.
