Overcoming Distortion and Fear on Transgender Rights

Beyer, Dana
January 2008
National NOW Times;Spring2008, Vol. 40 Issue 1, p8
The author expresses her views on transgender discrimination and the rights of the GLBT community. She believes that everyone is affected by hate crimes and violence regardless of economic status. In November 2007, the Montgomery County Council of Maryland passed a measure to prohibit anti-transgender discrimination. Such law allows things like unisex bathrooms and with that, the author thinks that it gives way for sex offenders to violate women.
