ABSTRACT
The author reflects on the significance of Memorial Day celebration in Arizona. He comments that the celebration has become vague and an odd holiday because more people know it as the day of the Indianapolis 500 rather than, as the day to honor people who have died in service to the country. He adds that the advocate of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to return the observance of the celebration to May 30 is not something that is otherwise widely supported.
