ABSTRACT
The article comments on the impact of credit crunch in the home furnishing industry. Credit crunch causes large lenders to become far demanding to borrowers, which includes tightening their credit. In the furniture industry, tighter credit leaves importers with two alternatives: to either find more expensive lender or for his firm to take on bigger exposure by becoming a bank for retail customers. Meanwhile, less credit for suppliers and retailers, also means less credit to offer to consumers.
