The author reflects on the art exhibition held at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts. He argues that the textile implies a useful life whether as a wearable piece, interior decoration and a structure such as a tent or a kite. He expressed that he was intrigued by those works that explore the chemical and biological reactions that occur with deterioration.
