ABSTRACT
The author reflects on texture as a design element of fiber art. She says that she found in the dictionary that the primary definition of texture is the appearance of fabric resulting from the woven arrangement of its fibers. She also discusses the views on the sense of touch by the western art world, Louis Braille and a French military officer.
