ABSTRACT
The author argues that retailers and manufacturers need not align their objectives just to succeed in the business. He claims that retailers and manufacturers do not have a common goal and the concept of alignment only causes business failure. He says that alignment undermines the real meaning of manufacturer-retailer cooperation. He adds that cooperation, and not alignment, is a more realistic goal in the retailer-manufacturer relations.
